Feeling a Little Zen

Today I am Grateful for ~
  • Spring break and the more relaxed pace it allows.
  • A quiet morning around the house.
  • Getting some things checked off "the list".
  • Info on why my hair and nails have gotten so weak and what to do about it.
  • That the remedy is natural and doctor recommended.
  • The many luxuries I am surrounded by.
  • A warm home.
  • A reminder that God is handling all my problems.

  • The support and encouragement of Sister Goddesses.
  • Opportunities to physically connect w/my friends in addition to connecting on Facebook.
  • The plethora of examples in my life of shining, empowered, loving, creative, sexy womanhood. For those of you striving to live your life this way -- Thanks for paving the way.
  • Getting to the root of it all and feeling hopeful.
  • The huge shift in energy that the aforementioned created.
  • The opportunity to watch and see how everything unfolds...

This much. And No More.

Today I am Grateful for ~
  • The stubborn part of me that has always quietly refused to conform to the do, do, do, push, push, push, go, go, go, Protestant Work Ethic.
  • That piece of me that bought into the judgements and deemed me less than.
  • That piece that whispered lazy, selfish, not good enough, burden, worthless.
  • That piece of me that has just refused to cooperate.
  • That stubborn piece which kept me from doing all that I could, kept me from being all that I can be, and kept me in a place failing to live up to my highest potential.
  • The piece of me that has said without words, "This much. And No More."
  • The Irony that, it is that self-same place that saves my life and that has kept my Self intact all these years.
  • The brilliance of another person who pointed this out, and her suggestion that I honor that which has kept me alive.
  • Her acknowledgement of the lie we get told..."When you do 'x'. You'll be lovable." "When you do 'y' you'll deserve good things.", "When you do 'z', you'll have our approval." Those are falsehoods. It will never be enough. There will always be something more.
  • The truth--which is...I am already lovable. I already deserve good things. And the Universe/God approves of me even if I never lift another finger [yes, even if I'm capable of doing so!!].
  • The realization that I could probably be called a christian. Because I'm a Protest-ant.
  • That the Truth often does set one free. Even if it is free to do more :D

Peacefully yours,

Sharon

Day 2 of Back to Gratitude

Today I am Grateful for ~
  • Realizing tonight how badly I wanted to make someone else the bad guy in a situation. Even though I realized there was most likely a good explanation for how things went. I really wanted to enlist others in my, "aren't they just off their rocker" campaign. I wanted it so bad, I could practically taste it! Problem is if someone else is the bad guy that makes me the victim. Eh, I think I'll pass. Sure looks tempting though!
  • Sanity in a seemingly crazy situation.
  • Feeling strengthen and able to reist the temptation.
  • Feeling more grounded now that the urge has passed.
  • How the house looks right now.
  • Finding small ways to "Mama Gena" myself. Uh, that sounds wrong...celebrate my beauty and my femininity, yeah that's what I meant!
  • Meds that keep up my level of encouragement and help with follow through.
  • Divine guidance -- More Please!

Staying Grateful

Today I am Grateful for ~
  • Milder weather today.
  • Getting re-connected with my compassion.
  • Realizing that I am very uncomfortable with ambiguity. I like things nailed down.
  • Realizing that ambiguity can be useful.
  • Anne for helping me find my compassion by sharing about herself and also for her support on the TLC weekend.
  • Shanan for helping me get more clarity and for being supportive, and for calling to invite me to meet her for lunch.
  • Deciding to be led, even though I'm not sure how to do that.
  • Putting one foot in front of the other.
  • Taking care of myself by staying home from school today.
  • Finding that I can still laugh and feel good through this trying time.

Love, Sharon
