I Remember My Friend

Today I am Grateful For~

My friend Jim, his warm hugs, his gentle enthusiastic greetings, his sense of humor, his giving nature, hanging out with him in the back of the room (the two of us ISTJ "rule followers" and Darryl L. often cutting up at the wrong times), and for the ridiculous tiki mask pants he always wore for Saturday morning's Outrageous Exercise.

I'm grateful to have won his respect and his trust. I don't believe either were given lightly.

I'm grateful to have witnessed his insight (usually right on the money) and to have seen first hand how much he cared about others.

I'm grateful to have witnessed his vulnerability and to have seen that even someone so successful and confident could be touched at being recognized and thanked.

I'm grateful that Shaina's childhood memories of dentists consists of him and his gentle hands. And that he had her implicit trust (another thing not lightly given).

I'm grateful for all the ways he included me in the fun, and in picking out the music, and his tutelage of said music, sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of Motown Hits and music in general (I wish I had been a better pupil).

I'm grateful for his friendship, all the more dear because we both grew into it.

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to say goodbye at his "fun"-eral and that I was able to tell him how much I valued his our friendship and tell him that I loved him before he died.

I'm grateful for the knowledge that he didn't "pass away", he passed into pure Light and Love.

Feeling Grateful and Blessed,

Sharon

Not Flying Solo

Today I am Grateful for~
  • Michelle's glog reminding me that I don't have to have all the answers, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. And inspiring me to use my dinner break to write my gratitude list.
  • That the reminder went hand in hand with remembering, earlier today, that I don't have to handle the huge stuff on my own. I can rely on the Universe to guide and support me.
  • Knowing that whatever will serve my highest good will be shown to me.
  • Complete trust in that knowledge.
  • Knowing that I can take care of myself.
  • The love that seems to come at me from all sides lately.
  • The constant affirmation I'm getting, and how it challenges me to become comfortable with it.
  • Yoga and how much I'm getting out of it.
  • Chuck's generosity.
  • Professor Ailewadi's support and his sense of humor.
  • Kindness, kindness, kindness - witnessing it, receiving it, giving it. It just feels good no matter what the form!!!
  • You.

Love,

Sharon
